How Much Does a Website Cost in Ireland? Honest Numbers for 2026
Short version: a professionally built business website in 2026 costs roughly €1,300 to €8,500 once, plus €10 to €180 a month to run. Most pricing pages answer this question with "it depends". True enough — but it can still be put in numbers. Below we publish our own complete price list and set it next to the market ranges for Ireland and Germany.
How much does a website cost in 2026? The short answer
A simple website from an agency starts at around €1,300, a full business website at around €4,000, a custom web application at €8,500. Here is our own published price list to back that up (all prices excl. VAT):
| Service | Price | What matters about it |
|---|---|---|
| Simple website (up to 5 pages) | from €1,300 one-time | Mobile-first design, a CMS so you can edit every page yourself, SEO setup, GDPR-ready legal pages, contact and lead forms |
| Business website (up to 15 pages) | from €4,000 one-time | Fully custom design instead of a template, professional copy for your core pages included, integrations (booking, newsletter, CRM), bilingual EN/DE build available |
| Web application | from €8,500 one-time | Portals, booking systems, internal tools — complete platforms from €18,000 |
| E-commerce add-on | +€2,000–4,000 | Product catalogue, cart and checkout, payments and EU VAT setup |
| Managed hosting | €59–179 per month | EU servers, updates, daily backups, SSL, monitoring — depending on how much care the site needs |
Every tier with its full list of deliverables is on our pricing page — the prices there are fixed, published, and valid before you have to talk to anyone.
What do agencies, freelancers and website builders charge?
Irish agencies typically charge €2,500 to €6,500 for a small-business build, German agencies €1,500 to €3,000 for a solid SMB site, freelancers €800 to €3,000; website builders cost €10 to €40 a month — plus 30 to 50 hours of your own work. The ranges come from published Irish agency pricing guides and current industry overviews (2026). At a glance:
| Provider | Typical cost | What you get for it |
|---|---|---|
| Website builder (Wix, Jimdo etc.) | €10–40 per month | Technology for building it yourself; industry overviews (2026) put your own workload at 30 to 50 hours. And you never own the site: when the subscription ends, so does the website |
| Freelancer | €800–3,000 one-time | Quality and availability vary widely; who maintains the site afterwards is often left open |
| Irish agency | €2,500–6,500 one-time | Typical small-business build per published Irish agency pricing guides (2026) |
| German agency (SMB & trades) | €1,500–3,000 one-time | Solid SMB website per current published guides (2026); copywriting and ongoing maintenance are frequently not included |
| ANET Studios | from €1,300 / from €4,000 | Published fixed prices, copywriting included in the Business tier, and you own the code outright |
One caveat on all market figures: these are ranges from published overviews, not quotes. Any serious agency will give you a fixed price for your specific project after a short conversation — anyone who permanently hides behind "price on request" usually has a reason.
Do you need an agency at all, or is a builder enough? We run that calculation openly in our guide Website builder or agency? — including the cases where the builder wins.
What is included in the price — and what costs extra?
An agency's one-time price usually covers design, implementation and the technical setup. Copywriting, photography and ongoing maintenance, on the other hand, often cost extra — and that is exactly where the gap between the quote and the final invoice comes from. Ask every agency about this list, item by item:
Usually included in the one-time price
- Design and implementation of all agreed pages, optimised for mobile
- Contact forms and core functionality
- Technical SEO setup: sitemap, meta tags, clean page structure
- SSL encryption — in 2026 this should not cost extra anywhere
- Domain and hosting setup (running the site is then a monthly cost)
What frequently costs extra
- Professional copywriting: per industry overviews (2026), €500 to €1,500 extra depending on scope if it isn't part of the package — in our Business tier, copy for the core pages is included
- Professional photography: stock images are usually covered, a photographer at your premises is not
- Ongoing maintenance and updates: €20 to €180 a month depending on the provider
- Legally required pages: legal notice, privacy policy and a correct cookie banner are mandatory for business sites in the EU — some offers only ship placeholder text you have to fill in yourself
- Changes after launch: agree hourly rates for post-launch adjustments in writing, before you sign
The honest number to compare is therefore never the price on the first page of the quote, but the sum of the one-time price, the missing items, and two or three years of running the site.
Which special cases make a website more expensive?
An online shop, appointment booking, multiple languages and specific legal requirements are the most common price drivers. None of them is a reason to panic — but every one of them belongs on the table before the quote is written:
- Online appointment booking: Customers book themselves instead of calling. Perfectly doable as an integration of a booking tool — we include it in the Business tier; elsewhere it is often billed as an add-on module.
- Online shop: Product catalogue, cart, payments and EU VAT handling are genuine extra work. With us, the e-commerce add-on costs €2,000 to €4,000 on top — shop offers that are dramatically cheaper usually cut one of those corners.
- Multiple languages: A second language means every text twice, plus a clean technical setup (hreflang) so Google shows the right version. A bilingual EN/DE build is available in our Business tier — this very page is an example of one.
- Emergency call-out businesses: Someone searching at 2am with a burst pipe calls the first number that loads instantly on their phone and can be tapped. That doesn't necessarily cost more — it just has to be built that way from the start: load time, click-to-call, emergency number at the very top.
- GDPR and legal notices: A legal notice, privacy policy and a correct cookie banner are mandatory for business websites, not an extra. Plan them in from day one — we include GDPR-ready legal pages in every tier.
How much does a website cost per month?
Realistically €10 to €180 a month, depending on how much of the work you take on yourself. The items one by one:
- Domain: around €10 to €20 a year — the smallest item.
- Hosting: basic web hosting starts at a few euros a month, but then updates, backups and security are your job. Managed hosting takes that off your plate — with us €59 to €179 a month depending on the level of care, including daily backups, SSL and monitoring.
- Maintenance and changes: Software ages, and so does content. Without care, a website gets slower, less secure and factually wrong over the years. This item costs either your time or your money — only "nothing at all" is not an honest option.
- Builder subscription: €10 to €40 a month for as long as the site should exist. When the subscription ends, so does the website — you cannot take it with you.
Running costs are insurance: they keep your most important sales channel reachable, fast and secure.
Common questions about website costs
Why are agency websites so expensive?
Because you are buying working time: concept, design, copy, implementation, testing and a legally clean setup. Depending on the tier, two to six weeks of project time go into one of our websites. The better question than "what does it cost?" is "what does it bring in?" anyway — a website that wins even a single four-figure job per quarter has paid for itself within the first year.
Can I switch providers later?
With a builder, practically no — you cannot take the site with you. With agencies it depends on the contract: before signing, ask who owns the code and the content, and what a move would cost. With us, you own the code 100%, including a free handover if you ever want to leave — no lock-in.
How much does a website cost per month?
As a rule of thumb: domain plus basic hosting from around €10 a month, managed hosting with maintenance €59 to €179 (our published prices), builder subscriptions €10 to €40. If the website should actively win new customers through Google and AI search, add search engine optimisation — with us from €800 a month.
